Tioga Cardiovascular Introduces Groundbreaking Luna™ TMVR System in First Human Trials

LOS GATOS, Calif., October 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Tioga Cardiovascular, part of the Shifamed portfolio, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully implementing its Luna™ transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) system in humans for the first time. The initial procedures, carried out using the 28 Fr. Luna™ system, resulted in excellent post-operative outcomes for the patients involved. These pivotal first cases were conducted by Dr. Adrian Ebner in Asuncion, Paraguay, and Dr. Irakli Gogorishvili in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, supported by a team of leading U.S. physicians including Drs. Azeem Latib, Susheel Kodali, Edwin C.W. Ho, Gagan Singh, and Vinnie Bapat.

Dr. Azeem Latib from New York's Montefiore Medical Center expressed excitement about the Luna TMVR system's capabilities, particularly its design to tackle the inherent complexities of mitral valve procedures.
